Major Lazer and La Roux Join Forces on New Mixtape

After collaborating with the likes of M.I.A. and Thom Yorke, Major Lazer have now teamed up with electro-pop duo La Roux on a new mixtape, Pitchfork reports. Revamping the tracks off of La Roux's self-titled debut record, DJs Diplo and Switch created 'Lazerproof' on a recent trip to Jamaica. The duo enlisted Gucci Mane, Drake, Rusko and Amanda Blank to add their vocals to the remixed tracks. This isn't the first time Major Lazer have tinkered with one of frontwoman Elly Jackson's songs. Five months after La Roux initially released 'Quicksand' in the UK, the duo released two remixes for the tune on their website.
Diplo's record label, Mad Decent, will drop 'Lazerproof' for free download on May 26. Major Lazer are also releasing an EP, 'Lasers Never Die,' which features guest spots by M.I.A. and Yorke, on July 20.
