Nick Cave has revisited his sleaze-rock outfit Grinderman, recording a new album and booking an autumn tour. The side project's second album, 'Grinderman 2,' is out on Sept. 13 in the UK on Mute Records and a day later in the US on Anti. Its lineup again features Cave alongside his cohorts from the Bad Seeds -- multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis, bassist Martyn P. Casey and drummer Jim Sclavunos. Following the album's release, the band will set out on a short UK tour that commences Sept. 25 at Nottingham Rock City in England before it heads out across Europe.
As reported in Spinner, Grinderman first emerged in 2007 with their eponymous debut album of rough-hewn garage rock that spewed forth titles such as 'No Pussy Blues.' On their MySpace page, the band divulges that it recorded the follow-up album last year at a variety of London studios including RAK, State of the Ark and Assault & Battery. It is co-produced by the band and regular Bad Seeds knob-twiddler Nick Launay.
