Broken Bells Enlist Joan From 'Mad Men' for New Video

Christina Hendricks, the actress who plays Joan Holloway in the TV series 'Mad Men' and is regularly referred as "the hottest woman in the world," is making a guest appearance in the forthcoming video for 'The Ghost Inside,' by Broken Bells.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, singer James Mercer says that he never expected the actress to accept.

''We assumed we would ask and that'd be it,'' Mercer says. ''She's got to be so busy, and who the hell are we? But she said yes! Turns out she's a fan of our record.''

In the video, Hendricks stars as an android who meets Mercer and bandmate Danger Mouse on a voyage to an outer space holiday village. Unfortunately, this plan costs a lot of money, which she doesn't have, so she has to sell off various parts of her android body. "They're expensive components," Mercer explains.

Before 'Mad Men' made her a star Hendricks appeared in the sci-fi series 'Firefly.'

The film has yet to be screened but a viral website, Visit Planet BB14, features a 30 second teaser, while you can watch Broken Bells perform 'The Ghost Inside' live at SXSW here.

Currently on a US tour they arrive in the UK for a date at the Royal Festival Hall on June 21 before their appearance on the Park Stage at Glastonbury on June 25.
