Slipknot Bassist Paul Gray 'Found Near Hypodermic Needle and Drugs'

A recording of an emergency call has surfaced where a witness claims he saw drugs and injecting equipment in the hotel room where Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was found dead.

TMZ has posted the 911 audio recording, where the hotel maintenance worker that found Gray's body tells authorities he saw a hypodermic needle and pills in the room. Mike Kellow, who worked at the TownePlace Suites in Urbandale, a suburb of Des Moines, Iowa, said he found the deceased in a corner of his room slumped against a wall.

As Spinner reported, the musician was found dead on Monday, May 24. Local police soon ruled out foul play. The remaining members of the band with Gray's wife Brenna have since held a press conference, where they paid tribute to their former bandmate.

Vocalist Corey Taylor said, "The only way I can sum up Paul Gray is love," while drummer Shawn Crahan added, "Paul was there from the very, very beginning and none of us would be on the path we're on right now in life or have the sorts of lives we have without him."

An autopsy found "no signs of foul play or significant trauma," though the cause of Gray's death will not be determined until toxicology results are returned within the next six weeks.

First off I would like to say that I am saddened by Paul Gray's death.
Now I would like to say how much I hate when these so called "Christens" like Matt. I for one believe in God and nothing pisses me off more than ppl like matt that use the bible to make themselves sound better than everybody else. I do listen to Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, I dont believe I am going to hell all because I listen to them. If you read where it says: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. It means if you blasphemy the Holy Ghost NOT if you listen to somebody do it because if that is what he meant then you must never go out side and only talk to church buddies. So get it straight next time and stop making ppl think that all christian are little uptight bible beating dicks that dont have great taste in music. Oh and BTW since when did God start putting titles before verses? I thought that was World of Warcraft?lmao Horde FTW!

To the many who,ve fallen

Rip..too many are lost to drugs and no matter their social caste they are regarded by others as subhuman, these ppl are you friends, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, businessmen, houswives, criminal and taxpayer alike....we are more than our labels we are ppl!

Luckily ive found a way out, but its always like a terrorizing ghost tugging at my arm, tempting, pleading me to come back for one last time...reminding me of why i came to be in his presence in the first p,ace...no matter how much i change, better myself or run the fuck in the other direction...im reminded..im haunted

at 5-29-2010Matt, you tell me that I sin, you say I'm bound for hell, so once your judgement condemns you, I SHALL SEE YOU THERE!!! (quote taken from www.wickedjester.com)

Saying that you are a sinner does not mean we are judging you. I am a sinner, my child is a sinner. We are ALL sinners. Doesn't matter if it's a small sin or a big sin, all sin is the same to God. So, that being said, it's not the sinner part that condems you to hell, it's the part about accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior that keeps you from hell. No human on earth is perfect even after you accept Jesus, you will still fall short of perfection of course! So, you will not see Matt in hell purely for the reason that he may or may not have judged you. You will see Matt in hell if you aren't saved and neither is he. Just thought I might clear that up. As for this man that passed away, I have heard his music, my husband is a fan. I pray my heart out that he knew Jesus, otherwise, his problems just began and will never end.

Jennifer, you and your kind are the reason for all the trouble in the world!! As soon as you tell someone they are worng or yours is the only truth, and parade around in some religious stupor judging people and imposing your reduiculous notions you open the door to resentment, hatred and WAR!
Please for the love of humanity stop poisoning us with your nonsense. And stop praying for everyone, that very act is causing the grief!

Like Slipknot bassist Paul Gray many figured musicians
have untimely passed away on drugs cause. We music lovers are sad for them. It is not a tradition musicians
have to rely on drugs that are deadly companions only,
Really sorry Paul.

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT HIS DEMISE, BUT AS A HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL, UNFORTUNATELY ADDICTS DO LOCK THEMSELVES AWAY. SUICIDAL PPL DO NOT COME OUT DIRECTLY AND SAY THEY WILL DO IT, THEY LEAVE SUTLE HINTS.

People just get caught up in the vicious circle. They think it will be fun and it is for a while. Normally when addicts OD they were off the drug for a while and they think "I want to get high just one more time". Then they take as much as they were use to and they OD because thier resistance is too low now. Some of the finest people get hooked on drugs. I don't know of many totally straight people that do anything really great.

We all have our issues, our pain, our pleasure. How we deal with stuff everyday is how we are meant to deal with it. Good choice bad choice we are free to choose.
Paul did what he did and that was for him alone to decide. Others hurt because of it but it was his choice.
I hope the band keeps going, they are such a force and should keep it going.
The GOD guy Jason........come on man, do you religious people even hear yourselves........stop creating problems with your holier than thou attitudes, we have failings, get used to it.
RIP Paul, thanks for your music!!
