Trent Reznor and Wife Mariqueen Announce How to Destroy Angels Debut EP
- Posted on May 28th 2010 8:45AM by Matt Glazebrook
Trent Reznor's new band, the slightly incongruously named How to Destroy Angels, is set to launch its opening musical salvo. The Nine Inch Nails founder's latest project -- a collaboration with wife Mariqueen Maandig, former lead singer of West Indian Girl -- will release a debut EP on June 1, NME reports.
In keeping with Reznor's commitment to innovative online releases (he issued the last two NIN albums -- 'Ghosts I-IV and 'The Slip' -- in a variety of packages, including free digital versions), the eponymous six-track set will be available as a free download from the group's website. In addition to the digital release, 'How to Destroy Angels' will physically appear on June 6 on CD, with a vinyl version also mooted.
The full tracklisting of Reznor and Maandig's debut EP is as follows:
'The Space in Between'
'Parasite'
'Fur-Lined'
'BBB'
'The Believers'
'A Drowning'
Reznor announced last year that Nine Inch Nails, the industrial combo of which he has been the only official member since 1988, were finished as a touring act for the foreseeable future.
As reported by Spinner at time, Reznor wed Maandig in October 2009. In April this year, there was fevered speculation about the nature of Reznor and Maandig's project after a teaser video was posted on the outfit's official website. The entire video for 'The Space in Between' is now on the site -- and reveals a slow, dark and brooding slice of typically Reznor rock with Maandig on vocals.
