Neon Indian, 'Sleep Paralysist' (Making of the Video) -- Video Premiere

In the following documentary short, which shows the making of Neon Indian's video for 'Sleep Paralysist,' Alan Palomo says that the video was a collaboration that ended up being "bigger than the sum of its parts." That's significant considering that, musically, Neon Indian is Palomo's one-man show."Ben [Chappell] and Aaron [Brown] seem to have an impeccable knack for creating unusual, spontaneous situations and then everyone just does their best to frantically run around capturing it," Palomo tells Spinner of the directors. "It's ballsy and it works."
In addition to explaining what might otherwise be a veiled narrative, the making-of video reveals the special location in Lexington, Ky. where the video was filmed -- an uninhabited and bizarre life-sized doll house called the Miller House. As Miller House director and founder Scott Guyon says in the video, the building is "really an experiment masquerading as a house."
As you'll discover in both the making-of documentary and, eventually, the music video itself, the Miller House becomes its centerpiece and a metaphor for the song's subject matter of sleep paralysis. Check it out below.
