Last year they were crocked, but now Aerosmith are set to take their current Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock tour to the US.The veteran band announced a 19-date run that begins July 23 at the Oracle Arena, Oakland, Calif. and includes one night in Canada. Steven Tyler and the boys will be hoping for better luck than hit their ill-starred summer 2009 leg, when guitarist Brad Whitford missed dates due to a head injury, Tyler pulled a leg muscle and bassist Tom Hamilton underwent surgery.
Then the band's singer broke his shoulder falling off a stage in South Dakota, leading to cancelled dates and tense discussions about the band replacing him, as previously reported in Spinner. Aerosmith have since regrouped to complete a South American jaunt and soon embark on a European tour that kicks off June 10 at the Sweden Rock Festival in Solvesborg.
In a statement on the band's web site, Tyler promised, "I thought it was time to get my mojo back, by rockin' South America and Europe, with a little home run at Boston's Fenway Park thrown in, and then off to the rest of America to do what we do best! We're gonna rock you into the middle of next week."
