Gorillaz Release 'On Melancholy Hill' Single

When it was announced that U2 had to bow out as the Friday night headliner for Glastonbury due to Bono's emergency back surgery, fans in the UK were left with a pretty great consolation prize: Gorillaz would be stepping in for the Irish rockers. Now, to celebrate the cartoon band's only UK festival appearance of 2010, masterminds Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have decided to release 'On Melancholy Hill' as the second single from 'Plastic Beach.'
The news comes just after Albarn wished Bono "all the best" and expressed his excitement at being given the opportunity to play the legendary festival. To see a live performance of 'On Melancholy Hill' and Gorillaz's first hit, 'Clint Eastwood,' check out the video below.
