Fresh from a triumphant appearance at this year's Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, the Pixies have announced details of an upcoming tour of the US, where Black Francis, Kim Deal and co. will perform their acclaimed 1989 album 'Doolittle' in its entirety. The 11-date tour begins in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sept. 7. As well as performing all of 'Doolittle''s songs, they will play all the album's B-sides in full too.
Last year, the Pixies marked the 20th anniversary of the album's release with similar European and US shows, playing 'Doolittle' each night. They also took the show to Australia earlier this year.
It is understood that as with last year's gigs, each concert will be recorded and available for fans to purchase from the merchandise table after each show.
Support on the impending US tour comes from Bristol electro outfit and fellow Primavera performers, F--- Buttons.
Black Francis caused controversy recently when he suggested his main motivation for a Pixies reunion was money, while he also expressed his despondency at the continuing fascination with the band, who haven't recorded new material for nearly two decades.
The US 'Doolittle' dates are:
Tower Theatre, Philadelphia, Pa. (Sept. 7)
Ryman Auditorium, Nashville, Tenn. (Sept. 10)
Fox Theatre, Atlanta, Ga. (Sept. 13)
