Sir Elton John Vetoed Scissor Sisters' Original Third Album

Scissor Sisters have revealed their first attempt at a follow up to 2006's 'Ta-Dah' failed to cut the mustard -- according to Sir Elton John. The veteran songwriter's opinion led the band to re-write and re-record the entire albumTheir guitarist played the album to John to get a reaction, frontman Jake Shears revealed in an interview with the Sunday Times.
"We had a whole album of material but we just weren't sure we believed in it," he said. "Babydaddy played it to Elton John and next thing I get a call from Elton. He just says, 'This isn't it, this isn't the record. It's just not right.' So I went to Berlin and pressed the reset button. I had to be by myself and dream, be sexy and, you know, be bad."
The ivory-tinkling star is not the only music veteran to have a hand in steering the good ship Scissor Sisters into more favourable waters. As revealed to Spinner, once in Berlin, Shears hooked up with Neil Tennant, of the Pet Shop Boys, who suggested former Madonna collaborator Stuart Price as producer.
With Price on board, the group recorded what is already being predicted as a dance pop highlight of the year, due for release on June 28.

No..not 100...84!! Was raised om music..when melody,lyrics,instruments(variety),arrangements, experience,skill,style were essential to being the best.
Economics began the demise of the great modern music..of bands..and the superb arrangements of instruments.
John is neither a great piano player, a great singer..or a great composer..at best he is slightly above average.
Faddish, blind following, profuse circulation has created many "stars".

Does anyone notice the genius of Elton John, if you don't then something is wrong with your musical
knowledge, or intelligence of noticing original talent.
No one last over 40 years and gives 3 minute interludes of poetry and music to so many.. without understanding what the form of art requires.

I never Loved elton john but I thought he was true to himself, Now I think he is a sell out like most of the others. He played rush limbaughs wedding, got a million bucks, I dont care that he donated it to an aids charity, He could do that on his own without blinking an eye. Elton John performing at rush limbaughs wedding is like Janet jackson playing for a kkk rally, Why would you do it, there are principles and he apparently doesnt have any.

It has been a mystery, musically, as to the success of this man. He cannot sing, he pounds the piano, his "songs" are infantile...but then this is modern music
in general. Must be Rush's young wife that requested
Elton's music.

Just another British disco/dance-pop band that's more interested in setting "fashion" trends than making real music. I'm sure Elton's advice was appropriate, though "hooking up" with another one-hit-wonder (how many people can name any Pet Shop Boys tune besides "West End Girls"?)probably won't help a whole lot.

YES ELTON SANG AT RUSH LIMBAUGHS WEDDING FOR 1 MILLION DOLLARS. HE THEN TOOK THE 1 MILLION OF RUSH'S MONEY AND DONATED IT TO HIS AIDS CHARITY. HE DIDNT SING AT THIS WEDDING FOR RUSH.
