Rock bands are famed for their pomp, but Bon Jovi took it one step further by playing on top of London's 02 Arena on Monday, June 7.On the opening night of what will be a 12-date residency at the massive venue, the band performed on top of the arena whilst it was being beamed to large screens down below, The Telegraph reported.
Screens were placed in the venue's outside quarters, Peninsula Square, which is able to host free gigs and video displays.
Mountaineers were in place to help the band ascend the venue, which used to be the Millennium Dome in a past life. It stands at over 50m (165 feet) high, with the famous steel masts, which protrude out the venue at slanted angles, 100 metres (330 feet) high.
The band have a long affinity with the venue after opening it on June 24 2007, but this time they've brought with them One Republic and Kid Rock as support, whilst The Side, an unsigned band from the Scottish Highlands, won a support slot through a national online competition.
