Civil Twilight, 'Letters From the Sky' (New Version) -- Video Premiere
- Posted on Jun 8th 2010 1:00PM by Benjy Eisen
Filmed on the beach in Malibu, the video for Civil Twilight's 'Letters From the Sky' features sea and sand more than sky, per se. But director Michael Carney was still able to perfectly capture the romance of the song. And romantic, yes it is. Bassist and frontman Steven McKeller sings lines like "I was made to taste your kiss" so plainly and yet sincerely, it'd make even his brethren in a band like Muse blush. From the band's self-titled 2009 album, the song's video actually starts off with different music altogether -- the sound of waves crashing on the shore. But they crash on the storied coastline of Southern California, a far cry from the band's native coast over in Cape Town, South Africa. And yet, in the video, Civil Twilight seem right at home. Check it out for yourself after the jump.

cannot wait to see them at the newport in columbus on the 29th!!
Pretty good production on the video. Saw these boys @ The Piazza Block Party in Philly last week..unfortunately it seems the director decided to cut the song short a bit? Not too crazy about the anticlimatic scene when the lovers seemed to be so eager to get back to each other, then never touch. The video just doesn't do the band justice, see them perform live if possible!

They seemed to have cut off some parts of the song, and i thought because of that, the intensity woud be lost, but it wasnt. This new video was so awesome to watch, and it sill sends the chills through your body. I love the part when they're running toward each other and the song increases its passion! Great!

Good crescendo and build up of the song. The singer's falsetto is really great too. The parts where he uses it is a bit suspenseful like "what's going to happen next??" I completely die for this song..

Have to say, still love the original video as well, there's just something so powerful and synergistic about watching the three of you rocking it out on the stage! Guess that's why I need to see one of your shows in person myself! :)
