Daniel Lanois Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Accident

Daniel Lanois is in intensive care after a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles on Saturday, Entertainment Weekly reports. The Canadian producer and musician has canceled his upcoming European tour with his new band, Black Dub."Lanois suffered multiple injuries but is expected to be released from intensive care soon," said a statement released on Tuesday. "Due to the severity of the injuries, Lanois has canceled all upcoming tour dates and promotional activity and will be recuperating for the next two months."
Known for his work behind the controls on albums by U2 ('The Joshua Tree,' 'Achtung Baby') and Bob Dylan ('Time Out of Mind'), Lanois' most recent production work was on Neil Young's forthcoming album. The Quebec native has also maintained a solo career for over 20 years, most recently with Black Dub. The band's debut album will be released "when circumstances permit," according to the release.

Omgoodness..I hope he is okay. This guy is the most talented singer/songwriter and producer that most people have never heard of. I love what he does for U2 and Peter Gabriel..and he did great work on Wrecking Ball with Emmylou Harris...but you should hear his own music..Beauty of Wynonna, Shine. He is one of the amazing musicians around. Get better soon!
