Vancouver's finest purveyors of classic rock, Black Mountain, have announced details of their much anticipated third album. 'Wilderness Heart' will come out on Sept. 13, and sees them still releasing on the venerable Jagjaguwar label. The Canadian five-piece's last album 'In the Future', an exultant hard-rocking affair, came out in 2008, attracting acclaim from all quarters and going on to be a finalist in the Canadian Polaris Music Prize.
'Wilderness Heart' is 10 tracks strong and features new song 'Old Fangs', which is currently available for download from the Jagjaguwar website.
In the two years since their last release, Black Mountain's members have been kept busy with their various side projects, with frontman Stephen McBean and singer Amber Webber putting out a Pink Mountaintops record in 2009, and Webber teaming up with drummer Joshua Wells for the second Lightning Dust album.
Black Mountain will take their blistering live show on the road this summer, with festival appearances at T in the Park, Latitude and End of the Road. They also play two sold-out shows at the Lexington in London on July 13 and14, with a bigger show at Shepherd's Bush Empire on the cards for Oct. 7.
