Jack White and Conan O'Brien Team Up for Surprise Nashville Show
- Posted on Jun 9th 2010 3:00PM by Dan Reilly
Jack White's prolific streak has gone into overdrive. Just after putting out albums by the Dead Weather and his wife, Karen Elson, White is now working with the reigning king of comedy, Conan O'Brien. Exactly what that collaboration will result in remains a secret.News of the pairing came from O'Brien's Twitter feed, when he wrote, "Jack White & I are doing something cool tomorrow. Hint: it involves a LOT of Tears for Fears songs." He included a link to a cryptic video that shows White walking through the halls of his Third Man Records studio in Nashville with a mysterious, shrouded companion. It ends with them putting up a poster of O'Brien that says he'll be doing, well, something at Third Man on Thursday, June 10 at 8PM. Whatever the event is, it's for people 21 and over and it's first come, first served.
For now, we'll assume it's a performance resembling O'Brien's recent shows on his "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television" Tour, which will take him to Bonnaroo this weekend. A guitar player, O'Brien has recently performed with Vampire Weekend at a show, so we'll expect an onstage collaboration with White at some point. Check out the preview video below.
