It may take up to six weeks to discover the cause of the death of ex-Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable.South Wales Police believe that the cause of death will only be formalised once toxicology reports are received, according to NME.com. A post-mortem examination has been carried out at a hospital in Merthyr Tydfil and an inquest into the drummer's death has also been launched.
The 40-year-old was found in his home on the morning of June 7 at 5.30AM. There have been reports the drummer had been drinking heavily in the days before his death. His girlfriend, Rachel Jones, 30, has been questioned by police who are trying to find out the cause of Cable's death.
Flowers have been laid on the windscreen of the drummer's car, which had been left outside a local pub, the NME has also reported.
Cable had a reportedly acrimonious departure from Stereophonics -- having been sacked by but frontman Kelly Jones in 2003 -- but the pair had patched up their differences. Jones has expressed his dismay at the drummer's death, as previously reported on Spinner.
Cable's new band, Killing For Company, had been lined up to play at the Download Festival at Donington this Saturday.
