Go-Go's Farewell Tour Canceled Due to Jane Weidlin's Hiking Injury

So much for the Go-Go's' farewell tour this summer. The band has been forced to cancel its three-week North American summer trek, Happily Ever After, after guitarist Jane Wiedlin fell 20 feet and injured herself in a hiking mishap near her Northern California home."The band is heartbroken and hopes their fans will send best wishes for Jane's speedy recovery," the group -- responsible for such hits as 'We Got the Beat,' 'Vacation' and 'Head Over Heels' -- wrote in a statement. "It is with great regret that the Go-Go's announce today the cancelation of Happily Ever After, their summer farewell tour. The tour was scheduled to kick off July 7 at Lilith Fair San Diego, and conclude in Austin, Texas on July 27. The band will also be unable to perform live on 'Good Morning America,' scheduled for July 16 in New York's Central Park.
Although the incident occurred several weeks ago, Wiedlin's recovery has not gone as quickly as she had hoped. The guitarist is now scheduled for ACL replacement surgery for her knee, which could mean up to a year of recovery time.

Wow, I can't believe some of your comments. Are you all that unhappy with your live you gotta take cheap shots at someone else. I happen to know that yes ,she really did fall and was injured badly. To make fun of someone with serious injuries is just plain imature. And what did she do to deserve all this? Try to entertain some people. What did you ever do to bring some happiness to others? Shame on you. Get well soon jane. You are missed and some of us care about your well being.

A farewell tour? Really? They had to cancel? Oh my, I WAS hoping the Go-go's died back in the 80's. As a woman, I WAS ashamed that they represented me, they were a throw back band of the sixties. I was in rock bands in the 80's trust me, NO one wanted to hear the GO-GO'S!

Love the Go, Go's, they are still so sweet & there music still holds up well, not sounding dated like disco or c-rap! Get well Jane! I'll blow you a "Blue Kiss," in the wind, hoping you'll recover by 2011! In the meantime, I think I'll take a Vacation!

Ok...the picture thats posted for this article have maybe 2 members of the Go-Go's shown. Who's the idiot who chose this picture? The very least you can do is post a picture of the whole band...espcially Jane no????
