Well, now we know what Conan O'Brien and Jack White were up to. The television host has partnered with White's Third Man Records to release a live album featuring his Legally Prohibited Band. Tracked Thursday night during O'Brien's performance at Third Man's facility in Nashville, the label plans to make the disc available "very soon" according to a press release.Presales of the LP, which will count an instrumental rendition of the White Stripes' classic 'Seven Nation Army,' are already being accepted through Third Man. A performance of Eddie Cochran's rockabilly number '20 Flight Rock,' which features a guest appearance by White, is also promised for the album.
If O'Brien's venture into live record making wasn't enough, Third Man has also announced that the beloved television fixture has recorded a spoken word piece that will be released on a 45 single as part of the company's Green Series.
Thursday, just 300 fans were provided entry out of the thousand-plus that lined up for the intimate gig. Those who made it into the special show were offered the option to pre-order a limited edition Black and Blue version of the forthcoming album.
