If you're looking to start a party proper, look no further than Toronto crew DVAS.Founded in Edmonton, Alberta in 2003 by Darren Veres and Jered Stuffco, DVAS have built a reputation for funky, synth-based dancefloor jams. They released their debut record, 'MACHO,' back in 2007, and have been keeping fans satisfied with a steady stream of mixtapes and remixes ever since.
The band signed with Upper Class Recordings, home of Cadence Weapon and Russian Futurists, earlier this year, and finally have a video for their newest single, 'Society,' from their forthcoming album of the same name.
"In the 'Society' video, we have a guy who's at home, firmly ensconced in a night of self-pity and reflection: one hand on a Playstation controller and the other in a bag of chips," Stuffco explains.
"Dude gets dragged out to a bar by some work buddies and he's totally dreading it," Stuffco continues. "And lo and behold, he gets there, and this amazing band is playing this amazing song at this amazing space, and dude ends up having an amazing time."
'Society' (the album) hits stores June 27, and is touted by the band as the inevitable "soundtrack of the summer." As an appetizer, check out the video for 'Society' (the song) after the jump.
