Pete Doherty Denied Entry Into the US at Airport

Pete DohertyWell, this shouldn't come as a surprise. When Libertines lead singer Pete Doherty arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City on Thursday, he was reportedly denied entry into the US and missed a performance with Sean Lennon.

According to BrooklynVegan, Lennon announced that Doherty made it to JFK only to be met by police, who ordered the musician to travel back to the UK. Doherty was scheduled to perform at the Corduroy magazine launch party that evening alongside Adam Green, BP Fallon, Lennon and birthday girl Irina Lazareanu, who dated both Doherty and Lennon.

Although no one is sure exactly why he was turned away at the New York City airport, visa issues or the rocker's numerous drug offenses could be the reason. Check out the video below of Lennon's announcement from the show.

On my family's one-and-only trip to the U.S., my husband was detained for 6 hours, interrogated & humiliated @ Sea-Tac by Homeland Sec. and told that if he wasn't back in Canada in 6 days, they'd come looking for him. BOY was this news to me & the kids! We got no help, no information, no assistance, no explanation, no f*** you, no nothing. He had a felony conviction for a minute amount of the green stuff in 1987 and apparently he is a monster who didn't get his pee-pee spanked hard enough up here. We'll take our holidays elsewhere.

"LeeLee
at 6-13-2010Who is Pete Doherty? I've never heard of him"

He was a member of the Who who was a rock group during the mid-70's.

They wrote the hit song "Who are you" that the tv show CSI has used for years as their opening theme on the show.

That is too funny....after the same thing just happened in the UK to an American performer. Both situations seem a little "out there". What threat were either of these guys to the USA or the UK?

First Marie, your level of ignorance is amazing but not a surprise. If your going to put that kind of racist information out there then at least put out the whole truth where you got it from.

The Color of crime was written by Jared Taylor who runs the so-called political group American Renaissance.

American Renaissance is listed as a hate group by the ADL and the Southern Poverty Law center who tracks hate groups for a living.

Another thing, Taylor has hosted events that were attended by both the KKK and the Neo-Nazi, Skinhead movement.

So, not only is that information you just posted wrong, it also comes from a bunch of racist.

I got the actual fact from the Dept. of Justice on crime in the black community years ago that can easilly refute this garbage you posted here.

Your another sad case of a white person looking for an excuse to be racist, but I also appreciate the response from others who denouced this nonsense you and that other clown posted.

You use a professional Bigot to attack blacks over an incident that had nothing to do with us, which is about someone being denied access to this country.

But you should have checked your facts first.

Just saying

One has to admire all the automatic reactions, and acuzations of racism. Why bother with the facts, right?
That's why we are in the mess we're in. If the facts aren't politically correct, to hell with them! How long can a people survive doing this? Imbeciles that don't realize they're digging their own grave.
And the comment about he should have tried the Mexican border? Priceless.

This has nothing to do with the above..it's just that AOL will not allow anyone to make a comment about that sick B.....d Joran van der Sloot. He's one SICK puppy, and we have not heard the last of that one. I feel that we will find out that poor girl Natoli wasn't his first murder, hope he gets what's comming to him, and we haven't heard the last of him trying to wiggel out of this..sick ones like him don't go away quietly.

Paisley you pansy, Jumpin' on the band wagon to blaze the little white girl...your "facts" can be challenged with ONE WORD: "Tookie"....you won't know what I'm talkin' about because you're too busy tryin' to get your ears scratched like good little dog who agrees with the majority for general acceptance. I don't hafta agree with the comment you responded to to be able see your need to run with the pack & be accepted by them as one of them. There's good & bad in ALL races!

Thank you so much for an afternoon of live comedy! Good "ole" America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. How many men and women (black, white, brown, red and yellow) die everyday so that this kind of foolishness can be spoken out loud.
