They were young, they ran green, they kept their teeth nice and clean. But now it's all over. Supergrass played their final UK show last night at a packed Brixton Academy, the NME reports. The four-piece, who formed in 1993 and released their first single 'Caught by the Fuzz' a year later, recently announced that their current four show mini-tour would be their last. Their final gig full stop will take place tonight in Paris (France, not Texas). At Brixton, the band performed a 26-song set that spanned their entire six-album career, working roughly backwards from opener, and 2008 single, 'Diamond Hoo Ha Men' to an encore of Britpop-era hit 'Alright' and their debut tune.
"It's been a pretty f--ing mental 17 years, or so, thanks for coming tonight," said frontman Gaz Coombes before the closing tracks. Aside from the songs, the performance also featured old public information films -- a reference to the group's late '90s gigs -- along with video montages of the recording process for their various albums.
