TAB the Band's latest single, 'She Said No (I Love You),' is all about the hard work that goes into making it in the music industry. Even though two of Joe Perry's sons -- vocalist and bassist Adrian Perry and guitarist Tony Perry -- are members of the band, they've previously made it known to Spinner that they don't rely on their father's name to get by. So far, they've proven their dedication with plenty of time on the road and three album releases, including this year's 'Zoo Noises.'
"The song 'She Said No (I Love You)' deals with the grind of being in the music biz, the long climb up the mountain, so to speak, and the various struggles that come along with that," guitarist Lou Jannetty tells Spinner. "The video takes up that theme, highlighting all the traveling we do, the characters we meet and the work and play that goes into being in a band."
For the song's music video, TAB the Band -- who have played gigs with the likes of Stone Temple Pilots and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club -- found good use for mementos from their recent touring days.
"The video is a montage of photos and videos taken on the road during the past two years, along with some illustrations I either made or found in old books I picked up in junk stores," Jannetty, who also directed the video, says. "A majority of the pictures were taken with my crappy 35mm camera and my '80s Polaroid, and I also interspersed some old video footage from my old man's home movies because I loved the way the dirty film looked."
