Bachman-Turner Overdrive's Tim Bachman Charged With Sexual Assault of a Minor

Tim Bachman, one of the founding members of classic rockers Bachman-Turner Overdrive, is now facing charges of sex crimes against a young girl, according to British Columbia's Abbotsford News.
The 58-year-old Bachman was formally charged on Monday in an Abbotsford court and accused of sexual interference with a person under the age of 14, sexual assault and touching a young person for a sexual purpose.
Bachman -- who formed BTO with his brothers Randy and Robbie plus Fred Turner in the early 1970s -- was arrested by Abbotsford police for incidents that supposedly began a decade ago when the accuser was just 11 years old. According to the complainant, who first came forward in March 2009, Bachman continued the assault for three years until she was 14.
The guitarist/singer, who reportedly works as a local real estate agent, turned himself into Abbotsford police on May 12, six days after a warrant for his arrest was issued. He has since been released on a promise to appear in court on July 5.
Bachman-Turner Overdrive sold more than 20 million albums worldwide on the strength of singles like 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet' and 'Takin' Care of Business.' Tim Bachman left the group in 1974, but rejoined for a 1984 reunion tour and tours in 1987 and 1988.

Still nothing in B.C. about this case. No good deed comes unpunished. This girl is troubled and has had many crimes perpetrated in her family by her family. Social Services visited this girl and her brother in their foster home for 10 years. Unless the Welfare agent was a moron he/her/they would have know something was going on. She knows how the system works with her and she can make it work for her. Nothing can be said about her because she was a minor. Even when they find out she lied she still can't be prosecuted. she'll be free no one know what she looks like. He is well known had his pic in the papers and will never have the sane life.

Does anyone know whatever happened regarding this? I have searched the net for 30 minutes and found nothing but this info reworded on multiple pages. Was he found guilty? Was it smoke without a fire? It is very disheartening to see an initial story and no follow-up either way.

The article here is clearly unfairly biased and make it look as if Randy Bachman was the guilty party. It is poorly written and unclear like almost a hidden fact that it was a allegation about Tim Bachman THE DRUMMER.... NOT Randy Bachman the famous guitar player/singer. Gosh, the media once again has to sell news by slanting the truth.
PLEASE get your facts straight and present a clear picture for us to gather the news from. Now look at the potential damage you could be doing to Randy and his innocent family. Really not very nice of you folks who write these articles.
It doesn't look at all like they make it a Randy thing. Tim is not the drummer for BTO. So it's clear you know nothing about what you read or say.

THERE IS NO FRICKIN' WAY HE DID ANYTHING UNAPPROPIATE WITH THIS GIRL....
and if this is a money grab, this girl is in for a sad rude awakening....
tim has had the decade from hell.......a very bad divorce that resulted in his giving everything up........a vicious attack that almost killed him, and still leaves him convelesing........many other castrastophes..

My word, I am THE LAST person in the world to protect a child predator, but this could happen to any man or woman! We don't know any facts yet. Innocent until proven guilty (dosen't always work)...but we just don't know the details!How can people convict someone already??? Wouldn't you want the same?

This is really sad when you read about something like this happening. BTO has always been one of my favorite groups from my youth.
As a paralegal, it strikes me as odd that it has taken so long for the victim to come forth with this. Apparently there must have been some blackmail or something before she decided to go to the police with this story. As I read in another comment, one gentleman stated he knows this person and she is after money, who knows??
There are many victims of molestation, incest, and unspeakable things. For anyone to make up a story on someone, it always returns back double to them. To those who do commit the actual act of doing something like this, same deal.
But I still admit, I find this so shocking. Does anyone else??
