Blur Reunion Shows 'Healed a Very Deep Wound'

Damon Albarn of Blur has revealed that last year's series of reunion concerts allowed the band to reconcile and overcome the strained relations of their past, saying the summer shows "healed a very deep wound for all four of us."Albarn came together with other Blur members Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree for the first time in seven years to play Glastonbury, T in the Park and Hyde Park Calling in 2009. In memorable Glastonbury scenes, Albarn tearfully sunk to his knees as the band finished playing their 1995 song from 'Parklife,' 'To the End.'
The BBC reports Albarn said the band had received a "brilliant reception" at the gigs, but quashing any immediate prospect of new material from the band, added, "that's that for the moment."
He also recalled the T in the Park show as being a day of chaos, saying, "T in the Park was one of the most insane days, I have to say. Graham Coxon was in hospital [with reported food poisoning] until an hour-and-a-half before we were supposed to be on stage."
Albarn, meanwhile, is gearing up for the Gorillaz appearance at Glastonbury as Friday headliners, after the cartoon band stepped in to replace U2.
