Neal Horsley was arrested in March after writing a blog entitled 'Why Elton John Must Die' and posting a viral video on YouTube showing himself outside the star's Atlanta, Ga., home brandishing a sign emblazoned with the words "Elton John Must Die."
Ahead of his trial on Monday, June 14, Horsley had been held at Fulton County Jail, Atlanta, Ga., but according to the Daily Mirror the court date was cancelled not long before proceedings were due to begin.
It is believed the knight of the realm's comments in a Parade magazine interview, where he claimed Jesus was gay, triggered Horsley's outbursts. As a result of his campaign the 65-year-old was charged with making terrorist threats, criminal defamation and using the Internet to disseminate threats.
However a Fulton County Superior Judge dismissed the case on the grounds Horsley's actions did not merit criminal charges.
