Ted Leo is in New York City to shoot a new video for his track 'Bottled in Cork' and the rocker needs fans to participate in the clip as extras. The video, which will be directed by Tom Scharpling, host of the aptly named 'Best Show on WFMU' on Jersey City, NJ, radio station WFMU, is shooting Thursday, June 17. Want in? Well, all you need to do is RSVP and get your finest theater-going or punk rock attire out of the laundry in time for a shoot tomorrow at a top-secret location in Brooklyn.
"The video shoot has been brought together xxxtremely quickly, like, seriously just over the last couple of days, and details, are still developing as I write this," Leo wrote on his website. "To cut down on costs at the particular venue we're currently talking to, we can only accommodate 100 extras, so the list may fill up, if we're lucky, relatively soon ... Also, said venue selection is still slightly in flux, and that may yet change things on all fronts as well."
Basically, Leo would love for you to RSVP and participate in the shoot but you need to be flexible with scheduling. What could be more punk rock than a little spontaneity, though?
As far the hilarious Scharpling, he has a long history of working with Leo, who's made numerous appearances on WFMU during the comedian's show. Scharpling even got behind to the camera to direct and produce Leo's video for a track called 'Colleen' in 2007. Hit up Leo's website to get more details about the shoot as well as his in-store performance at Manhattan's Generation Records tomorrow evening.
