The Horrors Add Voice to Anti-Whaling Campaign

The Horrors have added their support to a campaign protesting the proposed lifting of anti-whaling laws. The NME reports that the Horrors will provide the soundtrack to a new promotional video from the Whale and Dolphin Society (WDCS), a film starring model Alice Dellal and narrated by actor Christopher Eccleston. The video is designed to draw attention to the fact the International Whaling Commission (IWC) will convene in Agadir, Morocco, to begin voting on whether to lift a 24-year ban on whaling.
'X factor' winner Leona Lewis has also urged the government of Norway to take action against whaling after being moved by graphic footage released of the plight of captured whales.
Lewis was horrified by footage of a whale's slow death after it had been speared by Norwegian whalers, which was released by the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA).
"The horrible footage WSPA has released shows the cruelty of Norwegian whaling and makes it clear whaling must stop now," said the 25-year-old singer. "It certainly does not suit a modern, civilized nation, like Norway, to carry out this cruel practice and the Norwegian Government need to listen to the thousands of people around the world, including Norwegians, who are protesting against commercial whaling."
