Band of Horses Playing Free Pop-Up Show at Grand Central Station
- Posted on Jun 17th 2010 12:32PM by Dan Reilly
New Yorkers trying to make their way through the rush hour hustle in Grand Central Terminal won't need their iPods on Friday evening, thanks to Band of Horses. Building on the success of Spinner's series of surprise concerts at SXSW, the South Carolina rockers will perform at our first standalone pop-up show on June 18.The free concert will take place at the famed station's Vanderbilt Hall, with doors opening at 5:30PM ET and the show starting an hour later. Admittance to the show is on a first-come, first-served basis, with the line starting at the 42nd Street entrance.
Band of Horses are currently touring in support of their third album, 'Infinite Arms,' which hit stores last month. They've recently toured with Pearl Jam and have a new song, 'Life on Earth,' appearing on the 'Twilight Saga: Eclipse' soundtrack. Check out the flier for Friday's show below.

How Did you all hear about the concert in the first place? I am a huge Band of Horses fan and was so sad to hear I had missed the chance to see them for FREE! Just curious-they aren't listed on the Grand Central line-up..so how did you all hear?

Played the new song "Loredo" which am really digging right now and tried to change things up so people going to the Sunday show at Williamsburg didn't hear the same set. I was dead center in front of Ben and it was epic to hear them play where I used to work. Truly epic.
