AC/DC brothers Malcolm and Angus Young have been named Songwriters of the Year at an awards ceremony in Australia. The Aussie rockers picked up the gong at the APRA awards held this week in their home country, reports Digital Spy.Other winners at the APRA awards included Temper Trap, who won Song of the Year, and Empire of the Sun, whose members picked up the Breakthrough Songwriters award.
On a more local level, Aboriginal musician Jimmy Little won the Ted Albert Award For Outstanding Service to Australian Music.
The award success is a further shot in the arm to AC/DC, who are seemingly riding on an unstoppable train of success at the moment, with their greatest-hits-of-sorts album 'Iron Man 2 OST' topping the European album chart on release, as previously reported by Spinner.
The band also headlined this year's Download Festival and brought their own stage to the event, which saw acts such as Rage Against the Machine and Aerosmith also play headline slots.
