New Arcade Fire Album to Come With Eight Different Cover Designs

More details of the much anticipated new record from the Arcade Fire have emerged, with the revelation that there will be eight different covers.Although any further details or images are yet to emerge, MBVMusic.com (via NME.com) reported that 'The Suburbs' is listed as having eight different designs by the Alternative Distribution Alliance, which, as the name suggests, distributes music in both physical and digital forms.
There is no confirmation (or denial) on the band's website, which gives you only the tracklisting (as reported by Spinner), cover art and pre-order information. Two of the tracks -- 'The Suburbs' and 'Month of May' -- are in circulation, having been given a limited release on vinyl. They are also available to buy digitally on the band's website.
Due for release on Aug. 2 in the UK (and Aug. 3 in the US and Canada), the recording of 'The Suburbs' saw the Montreal ensemble work for around two years with Bjork and Coldplay producer Markus Dravs.
There was a sneak preview of what fans should expect on June 11, when Arcade Fire played a secret show at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall, which Spinner reviewed. There are also a series of videos on YouTube of their performance at the Notman House, in Montreal, earlier in June ('Ready to Start' is here).
The band are returning to the UK for the first time in a few years to headline the Reading and Leeds festival. There have been suggestions that there may be an Arcade Fire secret show in London to warm up for those shows, so keep your eyes peeled. They are also playing at a host of other European festivals, including Oxegen in Ireland, Rock en Seine in France and Hove in Norway -- full listings on the band's Myspace -- if you fancy a jaunt abroad.
