The singer-songwriter will play on board a Boeing 757 on Tuesday, 29 June, as part of a event organised by UK radio station Heart FM, reports Music-News.com.
He will serenade 150 'lucky' Heart FM listeners at a height of 41,000 feet (12,424 metres), as well as guests of RSA Insurance, who are sponsoring the event -- dubbed Great Gig in the Sky -- as part of their 300th anniversary celebrations.
Willing participants will have to try and win tickets for the record-breaking event by listening on-air and and online.
Heart FM is the UK's biggest commerical radio network - with recent RAJAR figures indicating that the network has enjoyed an increase of 105,000 listeners over the past year.
