T in the Park Festival Bans World Cup's Trademark Vuvuzelas

They are the scourge of the World Cup in South Africa and resemble nothing more than the sound of a squadron of angry mosquitoes dive bombing. Organisers of this year's T in the Park festival have banned the dreaded vuvuzela from the three-day event. An e-mail sent to ticket holders from promoters DF Concerts read, "As T in the Park is a music festival and whilst there is always a fantastic party atmosphere we have also got to respect the artists and the thousands of fans who want to hear their music without being disturbed by noises such as vuvuzelas in the crowd."
It is understood that vendors will also be prevented from the selling the offending horns that emit their hideous drone.
The ban offers cold comfort to those Glastonbury goers whose slumber was unceremoniously interrupted at around 6.30am in the Michael's Mead field on Thursday, June 24, when one over-exuberant individual awoke several hundred campers with a blast of his vuvuzela.
T in the Park will be held in Baldo near Kinross in Scotland and will feature sets from Eminem, Muse, Kasabian and Jay-Z.
