Lilith Fair Cancels 10 More Dates

Sarah McLachlanAs previously reported, Lilith Fair has already cancelled its shows in Phoenix and Nashville. But now the all-female music festival is slimming down its tour schedule even more by nixing 10 more dates.

The cancellations include Salt Lake City, Montreal, Raleigh, N.C., Charlotte, N.C., West Palm Beach, Fla., Tampa, Birmingham, Ala. Austin, Houston and Dallas.

"We are in the midst of one of the most challenging summer concert seasons with many tours being cancelled outright," Lilith co-founder Terry McBride said on the festival's website. "Everyone involved with the tour would like to apologize to the fans and artists scheduled to play in these markets, and express appreciation for all the support for the festival's return. Lilith remains the only tour of its kind, and we are confident that fans will be amazed by what each date has to offer."

Ticket holders for the cancelled shows can receive them at their point of purchase. Some of the acts who were part of those shows may make an appearance at one of the other festival tour dates, but there has been no confirmation on which of those artists will play in the remaining cities.

Lilith Fair kicked off on Sunday in Calgary and will be in Portland Friday.

Do you ignorant jerks have any ideas who is actually playing at Lilith this year? Get informed before you make yourself look even more stupid than you probably are. And speaking of looks, I just bet you're God's gift to beauty! And don't forget the old saying: If you can't say anything nice about people, you probably live on/for the internet.

The economy is likely the main reason behind the cancels. All musical acts are cutting tour dates due to the inability to sell enough tickets to justify going to a location. Until pricing around the country in virtually everything gets back to something realistic, then discretionary spending is going to take the biggest hits and will continue until people have free money again. You can't even run up a credit card anymore the limits are so low and the interest rates so high. Just getting a card anymore is damn close to impossible.

Im not sure who the line up were for the tour. But ticket prices for all venues are getting outrageous. I did hear the martina mcbride was one of the acts. She is a good preformer and in reply to the above comments on the looks of the women performers she is beautiful also

They sound like sick pigs who can't find the women of their dreams. Men like this are all over the place, bitter because women don't need them.
