Trent Reznor and Mariqueen Maandig Expecting Their First Baby
- Posted on Jul 6th 2010 2:55PM by Dan Reilly
Well, somebody buy Trent Reznor a cigar. The Nine Inch Nails mastermind's wife and collaborator Mariqueen Maandig has revealed that the couple are expecting their first child in a new interview with Women's Wear Daily. The couple has been married since October 2009, and they recently released their first joint musical endeavor, the self-titled How to Destroy Angels EP. Reznor, 45, and Maandig, 29, announced their engagement last April after a period in which they kept their relationship private.
Plans for a full-length album from How to Destroy Angels, which also features Reznor's longtime associate Atticus Ross, are now on hold due to the pregnancy, though Maandig revealed that she and Reznor are currently working on a film project. Maandig's surprise announcement begs the question -- how long until the happy couple samples their baby's cries for a future track?

Urgh. I feel like i'm the only one who's genuinely happy for Trent and Mariqueen.
Ever since I've been listening to NIN music, I've loved it! From the first songs of NIN, to the latest. I think Trent is an extremely talented guy and he inspires me musically.
As for Mariqueen, I think she has a good voice, one that works well with the sound of HTDA. I'm sure she contributed to HTDA with more than just her vocals.
I'm not really sure why everyone feels the need to judge them, us fans and the so called "fans" don't even know them personally. How should we have any right to show any form of unhappiness for them? All in all, i wish them the best of luck together. I hope they have a sucessful, happy career and family with each other.
Some of you guys are really mean. I feel sorry for your kids. I've been into Reznor's music for 16yrs now and though different it's still awesome. True,Downward Spiral's his best album and the newer stuff isn't as heavy but still good. Life is about change and growth and those that can't accept this are just closed-minded imbiciles. Anyway,I'm happy for him. Both he and his wife are totally hot so I'm sure the babie's beautiful.

I've followed his music for years, even, when I quote, "found Jesus" and know that I shouldn't listen to it, there just isn't that much music out there with the lyrical and musical depth that Trent has. Gifted, uniquely, and very. Can I admit that his current music doesn't have what "The Downward Spiral", "The Fragile", and "Broken" had? Sure. Or maybe he has just evolved over time. Should he go back on drugs to obtain that? No! He is allowed to heal and evolve as an artist as much as the next guy. We're not always gonna like it. But I appreciate him say, more than the GaGa crap that's out now.
He's having a baby. Woopdedoo. Good for him. He's 45 freakin' years old! Bout time, in my opinion. I'm interested to see what this spurs in terms of new music, I may not like it, but it may appeal to the Jesus freak in me, who knows? Either way, he's a human being, allowed to have a life, and experience happiness.
I'm also curious, from one of his last tracks, to see the lil' "Demon Seed"! ;)
So well said, thank you for writing all that that's how I feel as well, nin was a part of my life and always be very important source of inspiration and of emotional outlet.
February 28 2011 at 5:34 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySo Reznor's going to be a dad, now please tell why this is news? If anything this shouldn't be posted on any website outside of either Reznor's official one and all the one's created by his fans. Also what the hell is with all these sad goof-balls coming to Reznor's defense as if their mother had just been insulted or something? Honestly do you think Trent Reznor and that pregnant Asian lady-boy-looking wife of his could give a rat's ass about a bunch of negative comments that strangers are posting about them on an anonymous messageboard?

July 07 2010 at 1:56 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyhe headlines on this welcome site? Who ever heard of these people? I click on them only to find I never heard of them ever!
July 07 2010 at 12:46 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis astounds me, and it happens all the time. Instead of being glad that someone is clean and finally has his life together, people complain that they sounded better when they were still on drugs. Personally, I'd rather have someone sound bad and be in a good place. If you don't like the music, then just don't buy it.
And as for him not being talented, that's the furthest thing from the truth. He's extremely talented, even if he doesn't use that talent the way you want him to. Cut the guy some slack and let him be happy!
Yeah - maybe they'd like it better if their former favorite rocker were tragically dead instead of living a happy ending. Very rock-n-roll, no? Sickos ...
