LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy has revealed that he missed the chance to produce Arcade Fire.Speaking to the now saved BBC 6 Music, Murphy said that he missed two opportunities to record with the band but it he hinted it might be something that could be a possibility in the future, reports The Guardian.
As his full-time endeavours with LCD Soundsystem are seemingly coming to a close, his free time will be spent on other projects.
He said, "I've been writing lists of things I need to do that I've not been able to do because I've been on tour or making a record for the last eight years. LCD's not going to die ... We're going to go back to it being a part of our lives as opposed to our whole lives."
Speaking of Arcade Fire, he said, "I've missed two opportunities to have worked with [them]. Before 'Neon Bible' [was recorded] I went to Montreal and hung out with them. We talked about doing the record but it just didn't work out. I took an extra year off but so did they, so when it was time to make [the new LCD Soundsystem] record, they were making theirs. They're way younger than me and they've got five more records in them, I'm sure."
Murphy has recently been in the press for retaliating to bottle throwers at their Wireless Festival set, as previously reported by Spinner, with Murphy threatening to assault the beer-hurling deviant.
