That tour is now in jeopardy but Phosphorescent are trying their best to dust off, hoping to recover what they can and soldier onwards. Still, the loss totals $40,000 and includes some items that are irreplaceable -- not the easiest thing to shake off. They're asking anyone with any information about this heist to contact the New York Police Department and, in the meantime, they've set up a PayPal account to accept donations in hopes that they can still rally and get the show back on the road -- with instruments in hand.
"Anything anyone can do to help would be simply amazing," wrote the band in a statement. "We will be sending updates about the upcoming tour dates ASAP. Thanks in advance for any goodwill and assistance, and thank you for your support over the years."
Below is a list of the stolen equipment. If you happen to see it being pawned off anywhere -- or, for that matter, see it onstage during open mic night next week -- please notify the NYPD and/or the band's management. We're pretty sure they'll hook you up with guest passes and $40,000 worth of gratitude and karma points if you can help them recover this unfortunate loss. But if intangibles aren't your thing, try this: Phosphorescent's management (Vector) and label (Dead Oceans) are offering a $5,000 reward for the return of their stolen gear, and $1,000 to anyone that provides a tip leading to the equipment's recovery. Send any and all correspondence regarding this to firstname.lastname@example.org.
