Carlos Santana Proposes to Girlfriend During Chicago Concert

As if Carlos Santana wasn't smooth enough onstage, he showed off his romantic side by proposing to his girlfriend, drummer Cindy Blackman, during the band's Chicago show on Friday. Santana popped the question four songs into the set right after Blackman's drum solo on 'Corazon Espinado.'

Surprised by the grand gesture, Blackman, who's known for her work with Lenny Kravitz, said yes and sealed it with a kiss that caused the crowd to erupt in cheers for the newly engaged couple, the Associated Press reported.

"Cindy and I are blessed to have found each other," Santana said in a statement. "Being in love is a gift from the universe, and the spirit and vibrations that come with it are infinitely powerful. I look forward to expressing that incredible energy through my music, and in helping to tip the balance toward more love in the world with what Cindy and I share."

This will be Santana's second time down the aisle after he ended his 34-year marriage to Deborah Santana in 2007. The couple has not yet scheduled a date for the nuptials.
