Mark Ronson Goes French on New Single

Zut alors! Mark Ronson is showing some Gallic flair on new single 'Bang Bang Bang.' The track features a nod to kids' song 'Alouette,' which the DJ reveals is down to the contribution of upcoming New York artiste Amanda Warner. In an interview with the BBC, Ronson explained several big names had tried writing something to fit his eighties-inspired synthpop track, but "nothing felt right" until the vocalist that fronts electro duo MNDR came up with her version.
"When the song was over, there was this silence and I asked, 'What are you saying in the chorus?' She explained it means, 'I will pluck the feathers out of your head'. At the end of the day it's bit of a bratty taunt."
Ronson is now a big fan of the precocious Warner. "She's super-smart and really geeky, and she builds her own keyboards," he says. Smarter than some pop fans, it would seem. On Twitter, a listener mistook the line "Je te plumerai la..." for "Shake your vuvuzela."
Coincidentally, the single is released on Monday, July 12, just a day after the World Cup final, which amuses Ronson. "If I was super-smart, like one of those marketing geniuses like Will.i.am or Puffy, I would have had a vuvuzela remix," he says ruefully.
