Manic Street Preachers Announce London Preview Gig

To celebrate the release of their latest album, the Manic Street Preachers will play a special preview show in London next month. According to Digital Spy, Nicky Wire made the announcement when interviewed before the band's Bilboa BBK Live festival appearance in Spain on Saturday, July 10.
Asked about the inclusion of new material in their festival set, Wire said, "To be honest, I think we've got our launch gig in London and that's when we'll play the new stuff, in August. Today's just about a bit of payback for the fans that have stuck with us, so pretty much something from every album we try to do."
'Postcards From a Young Man' is released on Sept. 27 but will not feature new song 'The Passing Show'. This track has been dedicated to late Small Faces bassist Ronnie Lane. The band revealed on their Twitter page the track was written too late for inclusion on their tenth studio album.
The Manic Street Preachers launched their 2001 album 'Know Your Enemy' with a gig with a difference, becoming the first Western rock band to play a gig in Cuba. The trio played a concert in the capital Havana in front of the communist state's leader Fidel Castro.
