Sean Lennon Responds to Angry Beatles Fans Over Lady Gaga Photo

Sean Lennon has defended Lady Gaga on his Twitter page, after irate Beatles fans lashed out after seeing that she had played John Lennon's white Steinway piano in New York.

Lennon had posted a Twitpic of Gaga sat at the piano in her famously skimpy clothes. A caption said, "With Gaga at mom's house, she's belting on the white piano," to which he received a torrent of negative messages from "uptight" fans.

Several people posted messages of "disappointment" after seeing the "unworthy" famous Lennon piano being used by the 'Poker Face' star, to which Lennon replied, "Pianos are meant to be played. Why is everyone so uptight? What should we do, lock it away in a dusty room? So judgemental..."

Responding to one particular Tweeter, Jennifer Flatman -- Twitter handle lavielibre23 -- John Lennon's youngest son retorted, "Come on, lighten up ... life's too short, there's enough real problems in the world," before later adding, "Firstly, he gave that piano to my mother for her birthday, it is hers. Secondly, he was not not uptight the way you seem."

Gaga had been visiting the Dakota Building -- where Lennon's mother Yoko Ono lives -- when the photo was taken.

What kills me is the people who come out with these comments and the most intelligent way they can articulate their feelings are to bash someones looks. What difference does someones looks have to do with it. Where is the relevance of someone being ugly? I have found that people who are constantly bashing someones looks are either ugly themselves outside or ugly inside. Get a life.

Music runs in cycles and Lady GaGa is hot on dance. She's very talented regardless of your opinions. I love the Beatles and John was brilliant. A very wise and gifted man (as were the Fab Four). How could he do so well in most of his decisions and not do well with his choice of Yoko. He loved her and he would be insulted by your attitudes for his choice of a best friend and lover. Yoko made him happy, isn't that what we all look for in life? Money, Can't Buy Me Love!

I am not a fan of GaGa, but agree with Sean, love his father... I have no problem with her playing the piano, or with a photo of her playing the piano. I'm just glad that neither she nor, apparently, George Michael, own the piano!

I also assumed that Gaga was nothing more than an attention hound until I started to pay attention to her music, her singing, her playing, and her in general. I now have nothing but respect, and hell yeah it's awesome she's playing the piano. Publicity? Sure, why not! It's not like she invented publicity! But she's got the chops to back it up.

Seinfeld said it best. Take away the "a" at the end and you have "Gag".

1st, i can understand why fans see Gaga as unwhorthy to touch such a holy rock relic,

2nd, but this relic was purchased or became famous after the band split up ,,,,!!

3rd, i think what happened is that Gaga or her agents found a blog on You Tube called "Johnny Ace,Pledging My Love ",, it holds one of the most fasinating stories in pop rock history,,and a key to many of the myths & mysteryies that surround these people,,,

surely there has been a piano tuner or two who has had a go on the Imagine-icon since 1980, right? Heck, let us bid for a chance to play on it on e-bay. or let some other talented fools record on it for charity. C'mon people, let's get some ideas here!
