LCD Soundsystem, Belle and Sebastian Anchor Treasure Island Festival Lineup

With Outside Lands featuring more big name rock acts such as Kings of Leon, the Strokes and My Morning Jacket, fans of electronica and melancholy indie rock can rejoice in the line-up for this year's Treasure Island Music Festival, which takes place on the actual Treasure Island, nestled in between San Francisco and Oakland. The lineup for Saturday, Oct. 16 caters to a more groove-oriented mind, with LCD Soundsystem headlining after Deadmau5, Little Dragon, Four Tet, Holy F---, Miike Snow, !!! and a rare appearance from downtempo masters Kruder and Dorfmeister.
Sunday's slew of acts shifts gears to guitars, with the more mellow pop of Belle and Sebastian, broody rock from the National, orchestral rock from Broken Social Scene, the good time folksiness of She and Him, as well as hot young indie rock upstarts Surfer Blood. Also on hand will be Superchunk, Rogue Wave, Ra Ra Riot, Phosphorescent, post-rockers the Sea and Cake and bay area mainstay Papercuts.
Tickets are on sale now at Treasure Island's website, with a very reasonably priced early bird two-day pass going for $99.99. Single-day passes will be on sale starting July 16 at $67.50, with two-day passes increasing to $199.50. If the music isn't motivation enough, as in years past, there will be a 60-foot Ferris wheel as well as the always incredible Mister Gnogiurzauchshoff's Traveling Midway of Curiosities and Delights carnival.

This festival is going to be simply amazing. Last year was epic - with fireworks exploding over the bay as girl talk played at sunset. The Sunday lineup is simply incredible - I can't wait.
