Funny thing. I hadn't heard the name Johnny Rotten in years, and didn't even know he changed his name or started another band. (Meanwhile, U2 has been a band with its same original members since 1976!). Johnny just made me aware that he still exists by dissing a band everyone still hears about after 30 years. What a pitiful attempt at a publicity stunt, Mr. Rotten-Egg! If ignorance were bliss, Johnny would be a lot happier!

I agree with you Johnny that U2 is boring but you know what? So are you. Punk rock sucks. I don't own any music from either U2 or any punk rock bands. The best music era is from 1965 ~ 1978. The British Invasion, psychedelic, progressive, funk & soul, country rock and classic rock is all that matters. Sorry Johnny Rotten, You and U2 don't fit into any of these catagories. They don't call it CLASSIC for nothing!!!

That's like saying George Lucas should not have made the Star Wars movie because he had no outer-space experience. If Lydon wants to stir the pot, let him. Just don't rush to swallow the chunks that float to the top.

While I wouldn't have said it the same way, I have to agree. I don't get the U2 thing. Never really cared for the sound and never could understand what was so interesting or likeable about their music. The guys in U2 seem nice enough, I don't have a problem with any of them, just never really liked their music. But whatever-to each his own.

Aww, poor little Johnny.... so upset that no one wants to hear his "experimental post-punk" garbage so he has to slam a great band that has played to more people in a single tour than he's played his whole so-called career, not to mention all the humanitarian work U2 has done... Hey Johnny - YOU come out with some relevant music that more than 5 people have heard and maybe people will pay attention to what you have to say. Till then, stfu.

To the author of this article, it's "could NOT care less," not "COULD care less." The latter means that he does, in fact, care, at least for the moment.

This guy is a nobody. U2 was and is a great band. This guy comes along and the only reason he says this is to get peoples attention and draw attention to himself. Go have another beer and a doobie and slip back into your little nothing world Johnny. Oh yeah maybe if you smoke enough dope you can come up with something people might want to listen to.
