"I've spent the entire morning trying to come up with a name for the record," explained singer Rivers Cuomo to the News Times. "How does 'Heavy Mental' sound? There's definitely going to be more raw rock energy on this one."
"This one" doesn't have an actual approved title yet but will be released on Sept. 13. It seems Weezer are exploring all sorts of novel independent options to get the material out there to its still-rabid fanbase.
Cuomo previewed the band's upcoming decision to MTV recently: "Is it gonna be an old-fashioned CD put out by a record label? Is it gonna be something that's only online? Is it gonna be a shorter album, eight songs? Is it gonna be a longer album, 20 songs? We don't know. Everything's up in the air right now."
