The band were playing at the Ritz Ybor in Tampa when Corgan was seen to stumble, then black out, during a rendition of 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings.'
Contactmusic.com reports that Corgan wrote on his Twitter account afterwards that he had no memory of the incident, nor was it a deliberate part of the show. He said, "For those who saw me fall last night during 'Bullet [With Butterfly Wings],' that wasn't a stage move or clumsiness. That was me blacking out and wiping out."
He added, "I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet," he added, "but I can tell you I've got quite a good bruise + am moving slow."
Their next show, in Knoxville, Tennessee, tonight (July 23), is set to go-ahead as normal.
As previously reported by Spinner, the Smashing Pumpkins are to play a benefit show to raise funds for to pay the medical bills for Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone, who was badly beaten trying to break up a fight in both band's home city of Chicago.
The date will take place on July 27 at the Chicago Metro.

At least it wasn't a staged for publicity like PINK did last week.
