Lanois is now producing Young's album and has told the Toronto Star, "At the strike of midnight, we will premiere four tracks from the Neil Young record, visually and sonically."
He added, "Lucky for us, we've been filming him as well as recording him. So the performances on the record are captured on film, and we will premiere that on the night of Nuit Blanche."
The prolific Young's new album comes only a year after 'Fork In The Road' was released and is parallel to the work that continues on 'Archives: Volume 2.'
Neil Young Times reveals that four unreleased albums from the time period covered by the new box set are in the process of being "rebuilt". Three previously unreleased studio albums -- 'Chrome Dreams,' 'Homegrown,' 'Oceanside-Countryside' -- plus unreleased live album, 'Odeon-Budokan,' will all be made available on vinyl as part of the Neil Young Archives' 'Special Release Series.'
'Volume 2' will also reportedly include even more unreleased tracks than the first package -- as well as much more added content -- with the team currently "digging through" newspaper and photographic archives for material. The announcement concludes simply, "Much work has been done and there is much left to do."
