Tickets for the Boston, New York, Camden, N.J., Detroit, Houston, Phoenix and Los Angeles shows will go on sale starting Aug. 6 via LiveNation, with presales available beginning Aug. 4 for CitiBank members.
This continues one of the busiest years in Gorillaz history -- since they stopped by Spinner's studios to record a Sessions performance this past spring, they've gone on to release three singles from 'Plastic Beach' with the third, 'On Melancholy Hill' arriving recently on iTunes with tricked-out, remixed-filled versions. They've also just become the first "major western" pop band to play in Syria, following a headlining performance at Beiruti's Byblos Festival. Clearly, world domination is on the Gorillaz agenda.
After they hit up North America, Gorillaz will continue on with shows scheduled in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. If we're lucky, maybe they'll finish those 'Plastic Beach' sequels that may or may not be in the works.
