To make up for it, M.I.A. is promising to return, though she's issued a disclaimer that she's not responsible for any bad weather. "F--- it! I'm gonna do a free show in nyc when i get back, tho i dont have powers over rain!" she tweeted [sic'd] last night. "If u still have the hard ticket u free! xxxo."
Not in possession of a ticket stub? Have no fear: She went on to say "if u do me a lil dance, ill let u in too!"
Alas, the rain wasn't the only issue M.I.A. faced Saturday night. Reports from concertgoers, as well as M.I.A. herself, bemoaned the sound system's rather questionable abilities. "Money doesnt buy u s---!," she tweeted on Sunday, several hours after the gig. "I thought more money means better sound guys in america/\/\/\! i was wrong, the higher u go , they turn u lower!"
While no date for the show is confirmed, this isn't the only free gig M.I.A. has in her future. She's scheduled to appear at Merriweather Post Pavilion on Sept. 25, as a part of the Virgin Mobile "FreeFest" alongside LCD Soundsystem, Pavement, Matt and Kim, Joan Jett and Thievery Corporation. She'll also serve as one of the headliners at the Austin City Limits festival this October.
In other M.I.A. news, the jokes about her "outsider" status and supposedly high-class tastes (remember the truffle fries?) haven't died yet. Check out the latest from Funny or Die below.

She cannot blame the sound system. Either she just had a bad idea for a show or she made her show a disaster for headlines. Nobody else had a problem with the system. Die Antwood stole the show right before she got on stage. Think twice M.I.A New Yorkers know how to hold grudges.
