'Homegrown,' which Young once called "the darker side of 'Harvest'" because of its personal nature, was supplanted by 1975's 'Tonight's the Night.' Likewise, 'Chrome Dreams' was dropped in 1977 for 'American Stars 'n Bars.' According to his site, Young plans to first unveil these efforts on vinyl because "they were originally created for that format."
Although this is the second in his 'Archives' collection following 2009's 10 Blu-ray disc onslaught of music, film, pictures and interviews captured from 1963 to 1972, Young is just getting started and plans to release five volumes in the series. There is no release date information yet for this set, but Young currently has employees working full-time on it.
In related news, Young paid tribute to his late sideman Ben Keith, who played pedal steel guitar with him for nearly 40 years, during a gig in Winnipeg Tuesday night. "This is for Ben Keith," he told the audience before breaking into his classic song 'Old Man.' Keith died earlier this month at the age of 73.

Judging from Young's releases over the last few years, these albums should probably stay lost. Save for a few good songs here and there, Neil Young sucks and that's from a 60 years old man.

Obviously you are a close-minded, music hating zealot who knows nothing of Neil Young or the significant contributions he has made to children, farmers, the environment, and music. Young has done more for children with disabilities than any other musician that I know of through his annual Bridge School Concerts. He is an original founder and on the board of directors of Farm Aid which raises money for family farmers to fight foreclosures and raise awareness of the importance of family farms. Know what you are talking about before you write.
wonderful news. Some of that stuff has been bootlegged, but I can't wait to hear the official versions. I'm crossing my fingers that the upcoming Archives volume also contains the "blacker" live take on Tonight's the Night that Young promised some time ago to release. If so, it will be a hell of a set, impossible to refuse.
