The event, which will be hosted by Vanity Fair's Executive Online Editor Michael Hogan, promises to incorporate pictures, words and sound. Fans will be able to observe Pollard's own "imaginary record sleeves" and "dreamed up magazines and coffee table books" during the exhibit.
"The visual art of Robert Pollard is uncanny, moving, strange, and it summons a dark melancholy," fan and novelist Rick Moody said in the announcement. "We are lucky to have these riddles to ponder and unlock."
This isn't the first time the GBV frontman will be exposed to the New York art world. Three years ago, visual artist Todd DiCurcio and 'Sopranos' actor Michael Imperioli co-hosted an event called "Do the Collage," which featured the original art for a number of Guided by Voices' album covers.
