OK Go, Mayer Hawthorne and More Condemn Nuclear Weapons in 'Countdown to Zero'

Summer movie season usually means time to escape to a world of superheroes and loud explosions, but not every film wants to promote that destruction. A new documentary, 'Countdown to Zero,' chronicles the continual rise of things that can actually cause big, real life explosions: nuclear weapons. This past June, the filmmakers sent a crew to Bonnaroo and asked a handful of artists such as OK Go, Mayer Hawthorne and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' Alex Ebert to give their thoughts on a few nuclear related questions.

Hawthorne summed it up best when he said, "We want to end the things that will end the world." The cameras continue to roll, with an interesting, yet disturbing question poised to all the artists: should a nuclear war happen, what song would be best to play as potentially the last song on earth, leading up to its destruction? Europe's 'The Final Countdown'? The Beatles' 'A Day in the Life'?
